MAA Academy Work Experience
Looking to strengthen your CV, explore different career paths and contribute to something meaningful?
MAA Academy offers secondary school and sixth-form students the opportunity to gain practical experience within a growing international charity. You will learn how a charity operates, work alongside members of the MAA team and develop skills that will support your education, university applications and future career.
The programme is completely free and open to students nationwide. You do not need to be studying medicine or dentistry to apply.
What You Will Gain
During the programme, you will:
- Receive CV and interview guidance
- Learn how to plan fundraising campaigns and events
- Develop your public speaking and presentation skills
- Strengthen your teamwork and leadership skills
- Explore social media, PR and charity marketing
- Gain insight into the day-to-day operations of a charity
- Meet and learn from MAA team members working in different professional fields
- Design your own fundraising project
- Take part in our Dragons’ Den Challenge
- Receive personal feedback and support
Students who successfully complete the programme will receive a work experience certificate and a reference from MAA.
Who Can Participate?
The programme is open to all secondary school, sixth-form and college students.
You can apply from anywhere, as every session will take place online.
When Will It Take Place?
MAA Academy will include six online sessions beginning on from mid October. The full schedule will be shared with successful applicants.
Applications close on 30 September 2026.
What Happens After I Apply?
We will arrange a short 10-minute call with you once you apply This will help us learn more about your interests, the skills you would like to develop and how we can best support you during your work experience.
This will be an informal conversation rather than a formal interview.
Where Will It Take Place?
All sessions will take place online through Google Meets, so you do not need to live in London to participate.
